John14:1-14 (NIV)
1"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God[a]; trust also in me. 2In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4You know the way to the place where I am going."
Jesus the Way to the Father
5Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."
8Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."
9Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Jesus comforted His disciples that He was leaving to prepare a place for them. (v1-4)

To Thomas’ request, Jesus pointed out that He was the way, the truth and the life through which to reconcile with God. (v5-7)
3>針對腓力「將父顯給他們看」的要求，
Jesus made it clear to Philip that He and God are One. (v8-11)
4>主耶穌應許：必成全我們的祈求。（v12-14）
Jesus promises that He will do whatever we ask in His name.

二、上帝、耶穌基督、聖靈是誰？
01>安慰門徒的耶穌基督。（v1）Jesus comforted His disciples. (v1)

三、給我的教訓（命令、應允、榜樣、責備、警告）是什麼？
1>預備住處的應許 The promise of a dwelling place prepared for us
「你們心裏不要憂愁；你們信 神，也當信我。在我父的家裏有許多住處；若是沒有，
1"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (v1-3)
根 據主耶穌即將受難之前，對門徒所說這些話，我們可以非常確定，
According what Jesus told His disciples before His crucifixion, we can be sure that there are many rooms in God the Father’s house. They are prepared for those who believe in Him and are an eternal place destined for our souls. Furthermore, Jesus’ crucifixion did not mean perpetual separation; He would rise again and return to His Father. There will be a day when He comes again to take us back to the Father’s place. When the time comes, whoever believes in Him will be where He is.
反省：針對主耶穌有關永恆住處的應許，我是否確信？我是否期待？
Reflection: Do I truly believe in Jesus’ promise of the eternal dwelling place? Do I look forward to it? Do I have the confidence in it?
2>道路真理與生命 the Way, the Truth and the Life
耶穌說：「我就是道路，真理，生命，若不藉著我，
6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (v6)
主耶穌在這裏作了一個非常明確的宣告，就是：若不藉著祂，
Jesus made a clear proclamation that no one can come to the Father except through Him. He also used “the way, the truth and the life” to describe Himself. “The way” means that Jesus is the only way to God. One can only see, know, receive eternal life, return and reconcile to God through Him.
a.真理：只有主耶穌才是永恆的真理，只有祂的言行，
The truth: Jesus is the eternal truth and His words are the invariable standard.
b.生命：主耶穌擁有永恆不滅的生命，
The life: Jesus owns eternal life. Thus, only through Him will there be eternal life.
反省：我對主耶穌有多少追求？有多少認識？有多少擁有？道路：
3>聖父聖子本為一The Holy Father and the Holy Son are One
你們若認識我，也就認識我的父；從今以後，你們認識他，
我在父裏面，父在我裏面，你不信嗎？我對你們所說的話，
你們當信我，我在父裏面，父在我裏面；即或不信，
7If you really knew me, you would know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." (v7) 10Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. (v10-11)
主耶穌說：你們若認識我，也就認識我的父；又說：我在父裏面，
從以上主耶穌的談論當中，顯示出：主耶穌跟上帝的關係，
From the passage above, Jesus’ words indicated that His relationship with God was so close that it was inseparable.
另外，在約翰福音一章十八節，使徒約翰也曾經說過：
The apostle John said in John 1:18, “No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.” Once again, it proves that Jesus and God are One.
反省：主耶穌常在上帝裏面，上帝也常在主耶穌裏面。
Am I always in Him? Do I always let Jesus be in me? Is Jesus’ glory manifested through my words and deeds?
4>福音遍傳的應許 A promise that the Gospel will be spread in all nations
我實實在在地告訴你們，我所作的事，信我的人也要作，
12I tell you the truth, “anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (v12)
針 對主耶穌所說這段話，學者有多種不同的解釋，
There are various explanations from different Bible commentators on this passage. When we look into: 1) what Jesus did on earth, 2) the great commission that He gave before He left the earth and 3) the testimonies of the Gospel being spread and churches being built, we can conclude that Jesus did not mean that we could perform miracles like He did, but to spread the Gospel and build churches on earth.
a.耶穌進前來，對他們說：「天上、地下所有的權柄都賜給我了，
- The Great Commission: 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
b.但聖靈降臨在你們身上，你們就必得著能力，並要在耶路撒冷、猶太全地和撒瑪利亞，直到地極，作我的見證。」（使徒行傳 1:8） - 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)

6>求必得著的應許 A promise to do whatever we ask in His name
你們奉我的名無論求甚麼，我必成就，叫父因兒子得榮耀；（14:
你們若奉我的名求甚麼，我必成就。（14:14）
13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. (v13-14)
主耶穌接著對祂的門徒再三強調說：你們奉我的名無論求甚麼，
Again, Jesus emphasized, “I will do whatever you ask in my name.” It was a sure assurance to His disciples after His departure. However, instead of having our personal desires fulfilled, we should be aware that it is for His glory and for others’ benefits. This is how prayers are heard and answered by Jesus.
